Strathclyde Geoconservation Group members have created a series of short information sheets to help introduce local geology to a wider audience. The Whangie is one such site.
The Whangie is a ravine in igneous rocks on the north side of a hill reached from the Queen’s View car park on the A809 to the north of Glasgow. Â The walks both to the Whangie and on the hill itself can offer rewarding views.
The information sheet tells readers a little about the geology and the folklore.
Please note that the landowner has introduced a charge for parking.
